Information about Chandrashila trek located in Chopta, Uttarakhand

The trek of Chandrashila hill to reach Chandrashila temple is as beautiful and exciting as it is difficult as well because after Tungnath temple its climbing is almost straight which is difficult for a common man to do. Trekking companies also use the Deoria Chandrashila trek route to reach here. It is meant to say that there are two ways to reach the peak of Chandrashila, the first Chandrashila Tungnath trek and the second Deoria Tal Chandrashila trek. Chandrashila Tungnath Trek

It is a short, cheap but difficult trek to reach Chandrashila. Wherever you are coming from and whatever way you are coming, mainly you will reach Rishikesh, Haridwar, or Dehradun in Uttarakhand. From there you can easily reach Ukhimath via Rudraprayag with the help of a local bus service or taxi. By the way, the distance from Rishikesh to Ukhimath is the least as compared to other places.

Ukhimath

From Ukhimath you have to reach Chopta village. Beyond this you will have to travel without any means as the trek to Chandrashila Temple will start from here which is about 5 km. Firstly you will reach Tungnath Temple from Chopta which is 3 to 4 km from there. The trek from Chopta to Tungnath is very easy as it is made very easy by cutting stones and rocks which will take you a maximum of 3 hours to complete.

After this comes the most difficult time of the Chandrashila trek as the further ascent is almost straight uphill. The distance from Tungnath Temple to Chandrashila Temple is about 1 to 1.5 kilometers, for which you will have to climb a straight climb. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete it and during this time you will be completely tired but when you reach Chandrashila peak, all the tiredness will go away in a moment after seeing the view there.

Chopta

This trek is short but it is closed during the winter months. This is due to heavy snowfall on the road from Ukhimath to Chopta. You reach Chopta from Ukhimath, from where Chandrashila and Tungnath Temple are just 5 kilometers away, but during the months of December to February, due to heavy snowfall on this way, Chopta village cannot be reached, due to which the question of trekking is raised. Does not wake up That’s why people do the Deoriatal Chandrashila trek at that time.

Tungnath-Chandrashila

This trek is completed in just one day and you cannot stay here for more than a day as there is no arrangement for staying above, neither around Tungnath temple nor on Chandrashila peak. It is completely uphill and there is little to no flat land. That’s why you have to complete this trek in a day and reach Chopta village. Anyway, this trek can be easily completed in a day.
