All Muslims want to perform Hajj at least once in their entire life. But each one of us can’t have this opportunity. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam that every Muslim is obliged to desire without any discrimination. The “Afghan citizen intends to perform Hajj on his bicycle” is a true motivation for all Muslims.

His name is Noor Ahmad, he turned down an offer from the Afghan government to perform Hajj by plane. He said in an interview that his goal is to get Allah’s mercy and to endure hardships in the way of Allah.
Every year, Muslims around the world embark on a long and arduous journey to fulfil their duty, but some surprise others with their passion and enthusiasm for this sacred duty.
The Saudi Kingdom has never closed its doors to Muslims, especially in performing with Hajj and Umrah. But it had indeed closed doors for some countries for security reasons in past. Here, Muslims cover their distance by various means such as bikes, bicycles, aeroplanes, buses and private vehicles. People with bikes, bicycles and private cars mostly do this individually. But this community is much low than receiving Hajj packages.
Noor Ahmad Afghani relates to such a community, who has made the use of his bicycle a top priority for Hajj travel. This passion of this Afghan has become an aspiration, especially for those who are still far from the duty like Hajj despite having the necessary financial resources.
Because of Ahmed’s intention, the Afghan government offered him an air ticket so that he could travel more comfortably. But the answer came as a surprise.
I intend to complete the Hajj on my own. And this step of mine is only to fulfil the command of Allah Almighty.
During his interviews” when asked why he did not take advantage of the Government offer. He said. That he planned to obtain Iranian and Iraqi visas to accomplish this goal.
Then, on this occasion, a fellow traveller said, “Please pray for us,” which was silenced by Ahmed’s great intentions.
This is not the first time in history that someone has planned to use a bicycle for a sacred duty.
8 British Pilgrims Performed Hajj on bicycles:
In 2019, eight British pilgrims arrived in Mecca after a two-month-long journey by bicycle to perform the Hajj. At that time, according to the news, eight British pilgrims had travelled to 17 countries to reach the country.
The team leader, Tahir Akhtar, explained these difficulties in the interviews that he and his team had faced. These problems included weather fluctuations, lack of moisture and oxygen, difficult roads, rain, storms, animals and snakes, etc.
Despite enduring all these difficulties: “These eight British pilgrims have called this spiritual journey one of the most glorious.”

The strong intentions of Noor Ahmed and 8 British cyclists are the best example for us to take a step forward for Hajj. We cannot leave out the element of time because it is the first resource. We can see many examples among us that someone who has money but does not have time because he is busy with his normal life.
Today, some have a lot of money to buy the Hajj Packages 2022 but their health does not allow it. Therefore, time is of the essence if you do not have extra money to buy a flight ticket but your time and health can allow you to do so through other means.
